WhatsApp does not let you message people freely. Outside the 24-hour window after a customer's last message, only an approved template may be sent — and that is what this page does, to many numbers at once.
Use it to start conversations. The replies come back into your Inbox, not here.
Before you start
- A WhatsApp phone number connected — see Phone Numbers.
- At least one approved template. Create and submit one in WhatsApp Business Templates; only Meta-approved templates appear here.
Steps
- 1
Start a batch
Click Send Batch Message and pick the WhatsApp Phone Number to send from.
No approved templates found for this phone number means the template exists but Meta has not approved it yet, or it belongs to a different number.

Pick the template and fill its variables
Choose the template under Message Template. If it contains variables, the Template Parameters fields appear — fill each one.

Add the recipients
Two ways: Enter manually, adding numbers one at a time with Add number, or Upload CSV. The CSV needs a
phone_numbercolumn, one number per row.If the template has variables that differ per person, your CSV must include a column for each one. The form tells you which columns it expects.

Track delivery
The list shows per batch: Total, Sent, Delivered, Read and Failed. Open a batch to see the status of each recipient.
Read is the number that matters. High delivered but low read usually means the template opening does not look worth reading.
Batch delivery counts
Good to know
- Replies are conversations. They appear in the Inbox, where your agent answers them or you take over.
- A high Failed count is usually wrong number formatting, or people who have blocked your business number.
- Sending the same template repeatedly to people who never reply is the fastest way to get a WhatsApp number restricted by Meta.
