Compose a social post — generate the visual and caption with AI, or upload your own — then schedule it.

A post is built through a six-step wizard: Setup, Image, Caption, Schedule, Channels, Review. You can leave at any point and the post stays a draft.

Two ways in: AI generated, where the visual and caption are created from your brand guide, and Manual upload, for designs you already have.

Before you start

Steps

  1. 1

Start the post and set it up

Click New Post, then choose AI generated or Manual upload. Step Setup asks for the Brand guide, an optional Reference image group, and the topic — describe what the post is about, in a sentence.

For a manual post the brand guide and topic are optional. Add a brand guide only if you want AI help writing the caption.

  2. 2

    Generate the visual

Pick a format — Single image, Carousel, Story or Motion video — then set the aspect ratio and quality and click Generate image. You can Regenerate, or use Refine image to describe a change in words.

Refining beats regenerating. "Change the background to a beach at sunset" keeps everything you already liked; regenerating rolls the dice again.

  3. 3

    Write the caption

Generate caption writes it from the image and your brand voice. Toggle emojis and hashtags, choose a length, and edit the text freely afterwards.

Instagram does not support captions on Stories. If you picked Story, any text here is ignored when publishing.

  4. 4

    Choose when it goes out

Publish now, Schedule for later with a date and time, or keep it as a draft.

  5. 5

    Pick the channels

Select the connected accounts to publish to. An account you have not connected yet shows as unavailable here rather than silently failing later.

No connected account yet means the post cannot go out on that platform. Connect it first in Social Connections.

  6. 6

    Review and confirm

The last step shows the image, caption, timing and channels together. Confirm, and the post moves to Scheduled or Published.

Good to know

  • Failed in the list means the platform rejected the post — usually an expired connection or a format the platform does not accept.
  • Only drafts can be deleted; scheduled and published posts keep their history.
  • Everything scheduled is visible together in the Calendar.
  • Carousel images publish in the order you uploaded them.
