Post Ideas answers "what should we post next?" It reads your Instagram performance and the public accounts you name as competitors, checks both against your brand guide, and hands you a short list of topics you can turn into a post in one click.
Nothing runs on its own — you name the competitors and press the button.
Before you start
- A ready brand guide is required. Without one the page shows Create a brand guide first to generate post ideas. and the form is replaced by a link to Brand Guides.
- Competitors must be public Instagram Business or Creator accounts. Private and personal accounts cannot be read.
- Connecting your own Instagram account in Social Connections is what makes the Your performance ideas possible. Without it you still get competitor and brand ideas.
- Team members need the view content permission to open the page, and create content to add competitors, generate, accept or dismiss.
Steps
- 1
Open Post Ideas
Content Management → Post Ideas in the sidebar.
The Post Ideas page - 2
Add the competitors to watch
Type a username or paste a profile URL into the dashed field and press Add. Each account becomes a chip showing its follower count.
A chip marked Could not analyze is a private or personal account. Remove it and add a Business or Creator account instead — it will not contribute ideas.
The competitor accounts panel - 3
Set the brand guide, count and language
Three fields drive the generation:
Field What it does Brand guide Which tone, colours and themes the ideas are checked against. Only guides with status ready appear Number of ideas 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 or 10 Language The language the topics are written in — Turkish, English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, Russian or Dutch The generation settings - 4
Generate the ideas
Press Generate ideas. The button is replaced by Analyzing accounts and generating ideas… while it works, and the list fills in when it finishes.
The analysis is slow — it reads the recent posts of every account before writing anything. Leaving the page does not cancel it; the ideas are there when you come back.
Only one generation can run at a time for an account, and the page tells you if it takes longer than expected: Suggestion generation took longer than expected. Please try again later. That message means the job is still queued or was too slow, not that your ideas were lost — reload the page before generating again.

Read the idea and where it came from
Each card carries the topic, the reason behind it, and two labels:
Label Meaning Your performance Drawn from how your own posts did Competitor insight Drawn from a competitor's best-performing content Brand fit Drawn from a theme in your brand guide that you have not covered The grey badge on the right is the suggested format — Image, Carousel or Story.

Turn an idea into a post, or dismiss it
Create post opens a new draft in Posts with the topic already filled in. Dismiss removes the idea from the list without deleting it.
The three tabs are Suggestions (everything untouched), Accepted (ideas you turned into posts — the card then offers View post) and Dismissed.
The three tabs
Good to know
- Ideas are never posted for you. Accepting one creates a draft; the caption, images and schedule are still yours to finish in Posts.
- The follower count on a chip is from the last sync, not live.
- Removing a competitor does not remove the ideas it already produced.
- A dismissed idea stays in the Dismissed tab. There is no way to move it back to Suggestions, so dismiss only what you are sure about.
