A reference image group is a small collection of pictures that show the AI what "looks right" — your product shots, your photography style, your packaging.
It answers a different question from a brand guide. The brand guide sets colours and tone; reference images set the visual style of the picture itself.
Before you start
- Collect images that are consistent with each other. Ten similar photos teach far more than ten different ones.
- Formats: jpg, jpeg, png or webp, up to 8 MB each, 10 images per upload.
Steps
- 1
Create a group
Click Create Group and give it a Group Name describing the style, not the date — Product shots, not Uploads March.
Make one group per look you actually want to reuse. A single group holding every image you own gives the AI nothing consistent to copy.

Upload the images
Open the group and click Upload Images. You can repeat this — the 10-image limit is per upload, not per group.

Use the group when generating a post
In the post wizard, pick the group under Reference image group (optional). The AI then matches its style when it creates the visual.
It is optional on purpose. Skip it and you still get a visual — it just follows only the brand guide, with no style to imitate.

Good to know
- Deleting a group removes every image inside it, and the confirmation says so.
- Images here are references, not assets to publish. To post a picture as-is, use Manual upload in Posts.
- Mixed groups produce mixed results. If output looks inconsistent, the group is usually the reason.
